Is there anything I can do so I can get braces that insurance will pay for?

I really think I need braces and my mom and dad won't pay unless the dentist INSIST I need them.

  1. How is that possible?  Isn't that the point of braces?  So you don't have terribly crooked teeth?  Get another opinion.  There's got to be an orthodontist out there who'll okay the braces and they'll get paid for.

  2. I would ask the dentist to "lie" about it to the insuracne compnay. Afterall, it will mean money in his pocket if you can get them, versus you being unable to afford them. Most doctors are willing to come up with things that will get insurance to pay for it, especially if they think you really need it. Dentists want you to have a healthy smile you can be happy with. Why would a dentist want your smile to look awful? You might be able to work something out if you talk to him.

  3. Nope, and if you were to do something to your teeth intentionally to cause you to need braces, you would have committed insurance fraud which is a felony.

  4. if dont really need them dont mine were 5,500 well around that and that was after the insurance so i dont kno how much they were in the first place.. if he said u only need them cometically they must not be that bad than

  5. FYI THERE WOULD BE TESTS FOR YOUR JAWS TO DETERMINE IS YOU HAVE TMJD. YOU CAN'T JUST CONVINCE THE DENTIST TO GIVE YOU BRACES.

  6. get a job? how expensive are braces?

  7. With all those teeth out of place your jaw must be hurting!

  8. I don't think there is anything you can do to your teeth, and if there was; you could just injure something.

Save your money, braces usually go for about 4k, (at least that's how much mine were)

It's also a painful experience, so don't be too upset. ;)

  9. Have you ever heard of Ameriplan USA?  It is a plan that saves you money on procedures.   You can look up some information at

    www.EveryoneBenefits.com/RORTIZ

$19.95 a month pays for the whole family or $14.95 for an individual.  Let me know what you think......

  10. I’m not sure what legal reasons you could use for convincing the insurance company that you need them. I assume this is what you mean. Most people start assuming you mean doing something illegal.

As far as your parents go, that is a different issue. Thy should know that the dentist has his hands tied in this matter. But there are plenty of reasons to need the braces whether or not the insurance company sees it that way.

Self confidence and esteem is a big reason. It effects peoples impression and opinion on you as well. It’s more important then you think. This is why I’m working on getting my teeth fixed after over 30 years. My parents could never see the need for it and still don’t and I have suffered because of it.

Good luck with your parents and hopefully they will see how important it is to get your teeth fixed.
