I totally agree with you: as a Red Sox fan, Pudge has always been a problem,and Farnsworth has always been a joke. I know that both are getting older, but an aging catcher can still give you leadership, good defense, knowledge about hitters and opposing pitchers, while an aging middle reliever will most likely give you nothing more than some lost innings.

I think the Tigers were nuts on this one.

Believe me,..as a Ranger fan, I have been asking the same question for years with Texas allowing Pudge to become a free agent.  He would have been a Hall of Fame catcher if he would have never played another game after leaving Texas, and having won a World Series ring since only adds to that.

well to begin with he NEVER wanted to COME to Detroit,, WHO DOES,, Really,,

He came here because his Wife at the time (now split) wanted to come here and it was all about the money,,

Detroit Does not have to pay the rest of his huge contact the Yankees Will and they will put up with his  major mood swings,,,
