would you need to make a line 1000 kilometers long?

and the distance across the U.S at its widest point is 3000 miles. how many pennies, laid side by side,would you need to span this distance?

  1. 2 cm = 0.02 m = 0.00002 km

    so now its 1000/0.00002 = # of pennies.

    for the second thing convert miles to kilometers using a conversion factor and then do as i did above.

    50 million pennies = 1000 kilometers

    241,401,600 pennies = 3000 miles
