how is the best way to learn the diamond systom

There are lots of good books and videos out there explaining the diamond system. I'm sure you can find them on the internet or at your local billiards supply store. If you have a table at home and a dvd player I would suggest going that route so you can actually shoot as you watch. You can fast forward , rewind  or pause in order to soak it all in at your own pace. If you don't have a table then maybe a book would be the way to go. You can take it to the pool hall or to a friends house who has a table and learn it together. Good luck to ya!

A book showing you examples and a table to practice on... i learnt without a book you will begin to get a pretty good idea of where you need to shoot.

Hey Bill try to find a book or video that deals with the 40-80 system it is 100% diamond system -Complicated as H but it works

reading book about this is the best way but for your satisfaction you better  learn your own way. starting from kitchen try to shoot from first diamond to the seventh diamond on the oppostite side. shoot hard enough to make a three rail. observe how the ball bounce around the table.  from this, you can learn how to escape safeties .  from same diamond on the kitchen aim from seventh diamond to fourth diamond on opposite side.  you can drive ball to diffent angles if you use spin...

Diamond system is good on many shots, but using  English,

does not go well with the diamond system. hard English.
