The difference between a parent process's childs and threads?

Question

i dont understand the difference between an parent process creating child processes or a parent process creating threads..both appear to be the same thing, the share the resources , are terminated if the parent exists etc etc

You're right; a "child process" is just another word for "thread." Or "thread" is another word for "child process." Or something like that...
