Is there any SPECIFIC differences between the volleyballs used in girls and guys volleyball? Is there a rule against using a "boys ball" in a girls volleyball game or vice versa?

  1. There is no difference between the volleyball used in Men's and Women's games. However there are junior volleyballs available for girls and boys age 12 and less.

Not to plug any brands, but tachikara offers volley-lite balls that are lighter and more forgiving for younger players.

  2. nope nothing different about the balls, but the nets are like a foot taller thatn womens.

  3. There is no difference at all. Not even weight, if that's what you're looking for.

  4. They all use the same ball.  Leather that is about 9 pounds of air pressure.  The only difference is age.  The younger kids play with a Volley Lite, which is a lighter ball for the smaller kids.

  5. I hate to be the only one, but there is a difference in volleyballs for Men and Women.  For the USAV, the official volleyball is listed below.

    Molten “Super Touch” IV58L-3

    Women’s Open

    Women’s AA, A, BB, B

    Women’s U-Volley

    Co-Ed Regular & Reverse

Juniors girls from age 13 to 18

Molten " VBLITE" (red, white & blue) for the 12 & Under Age Division

    Molten “Pro Touch” V58L

    Men’s Open

    Men’s AA, A, BB, B

    Men’s U-Volley

    Masters & Seniors

You can not feel the difference with just your hands.  The feel exactly the same.  I have been told that the Pro Touch (men's volleyball) is a little heavier and feels harder when you pass it.  I was watching a match at the US Open championships and a men's team wanted to protest when their match started with a women's volleyball.  In that match, the protest was not allowed and they just switched the volleyball at that point.

  6. There is no difference, and no rule about boys/girls balls. Some balls might be designed with colorful style, but it is just a sign of which version it is.

  7. they use EXACTLY the same ball.

  8. sry but there is no official 'boys volleyball' and 'girls volleyball' some ppl might say oh yea  guys use hard volleyballs and girls use soft ones, but really there all the same, I am a girl and I do prefer soft tho, so there is no penalty or boys volleyball or girls volleyball.

good luck and i hope i helped answer your question!!!
