Can you guys tell me what are the different kinds of multivitamins and their effects?I have to write a report for an elementary kid...So some info would help...thanks

  1. There is no conclusive evidence that multivitamins have any effect. Most aren't absorbed, and what does get absorbed has little effect according to modern day evidence. Some companies and studies claim that there are some effects, but it's mostly based on bad science or misreading. Multivitamins are basically a popular placebo. So yes, they can make you feel better, but is more of a psychological and physiological effect. The only supplement that is known to work is the Calcium supplement, but calcium supplements are basically chalk; and yes, you can eat chalk for your calcium provided it doesn't have any other harmful additives.
