Question:

The difficulty of reconciling your personality? ?

I've been a-pondering. Sometimes I find it hard to link up all the different elements of my personality, especially if they are seemingly contradictory. I've used the phrase 'simultaneously meaning and not meaning everything' before, and as cryptic as it sounds, sometimes it best summarises how I feel. And it gets me to thinking, is this just normal shifting in perception, or am I just a flip-floppy hypocrite changing around to whatever suits me?

Hmmmn. Thoughts?

  1. Our society tends to categorize things too easily. You can be MPD, OCD, Bi-polar, scitzoid, avoidant...and there are drugs for all of those "conditions". People are just people, hon. Be happy that you have a diverse, flexible and adaptive personality. If you let yourself be pegged down to one aspect of your personality, then of course some one will think they need to fix you, because they are not seeing the rest of you which makes up a ...(drum roll...) complete person! Life can be long, and its fun to be able to keep on figuring yourself out throughout the whole span of it!

  2. Without a concrete example, it's hard to say.  There are many facets to ones personality...nobody is one-dimensional...that would be boring.
