Question:

The do's and dont's of pubic shaving?

Ive considered this for a while, and its not really a life changing decision, but i am unsure whether to shave my pubic area or not.

I'm told by alot of my female friends that its much more attractive, but i cant help but feel that its kind of a feminine thing to do. I know this isn't really the case, but personally i dint think men are meant to spend so much time and attention on how they look.

On top of this i was watching 'embarrassing illnesses' last night, which is the driving force behind this question, and they brought up issues such as itching, scarring and ingrowing hairs.

What are the do's and don'ts? How should i go about it? What is your opinion on the matter?

  1. I personally don't think men need to shave down there but trimming back the hairs and keeping it neat is attractive. Shaving can create rashes, ingrown hairs and cuts, just like shaving a beard but because of clothes, that area is more sensitive and prone to infection due to trapped moisture and body heat. If you're going to shave, make sure you use a fresh razor and shaving cream, and dry with talcom powder after a shower. Wearing cotton briefs or boxers allows more air flow to keep you dry as well. You can also try waxing which is quicker and more effective but it can be painful on such a delicate area- the skin is much thinner and more fragile. Honestly, ask your partner what she prefers. Some women don't really care as long as its neat and tidy. Good luck!

  2. I do it.

Sure it felt a little different, But " I " actually like the look and the feel.

I keep my pubes trimmed about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch long.

Don't go any lower, that's where you get into the itchy scratchy part of it.

Now I also shave my balls and the small hairs on my shaft. I like those smooth.

I do it in the shower.

I use a mach 3 or the 4 blade razor.

I use shaving gel (better then regular foam)

And I take my time and shave different ways to make sure I get it all.

when I dry myself off, I usually double check myself.

Then I top it off with some aftershave gel. For sensitive skin.

Usually by Gillette, it wont sting or burn.

Good luck, and give it a try.

  3. Don't shave. Trim

  4. Make it simple, just cut it sideways with a scissors really close. do not shave the entire thing, this looks weird on men and should be reserved for women only.

Just go with how it's growing and cut it short, this is the best look for men. You can also use an electric clipper to shave it really short, short meaning like against the skin almost, but just a little to look natural without actually "shaving" it all off.

The balls, you can just use a depilitation cream to remove all the hair every once in a while.

    Hope this helped!

  5. don't wet shave - this increases the risk of ingrown hairs, otherwise do as you like, finally it's a matter of aesthetics, isn't it?

  6. do:

a pre and post regimen of Essential Oil of Lavender

a heavy foamy shaving cream type (even if it soap foamy)

    don't

    go against the grain

try to shave off a epidurem of skin.

  7. Some people like the opposite s*x to be shaven, this is a personal choice of the individual. Shaving does cause itching etc. and can be very anoying.  Shaving makes a person look like a child, which to some is attractive. But pubic hair is a sign of man/woman hood and why would you want to look like boy. A man should pay attention to how they look, but not to this point. Everyone should want to look good, but there is a limit.

  8. Dont shave cuz you will itch after a day or 2... Trim with a hair trimmer or get a beard trimmer and set the guard as close as you and or your partner want.  Do this every 2 weeks and you will be fine.

  9. Well men, justlike women should put as much attention as to how they look! Thats just wrong if you go around looking like c**p and un clean!

the do's- Shave it all off,in the shower, keep your razr clean, use a lot of shaving creme, a good razr will work, after shave help. practice makes perfect.

donts'-do it by the sink, shave tooo hard, let it go, keep up
