  1. Good luck with that. I made it to 42 weeks and had to be induced and I was carrying my boy low for weeks before my due date. Everytime I saw my doctor for a check up he told me he'd be expecting the phonecall that night! Can't say I blame the babies though - I'd like to be carried around feeling safe and warm all day.

  2. How far along are you? EDIT: Never mind, just noticed your screen name.

In any case - sure, it could happen soon. Or maybe not. Women can drop anywhere from weeks to hours before active labor begins. And anyways, you don't want the baby to come too early. Ideally you would be at least 37 weeks, because that is when you are considered full term. I know you get excited and anxious and uncomfortable, but it is best for the baby to cook as long as he or she wants to barring any medical complications.

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant with #2, and the doctor noticed I had dropped at 34 weeks. At 37 weeks she commented that the baby was VERY low...but I am still pregnant :-)

Really, there is NO way to predict when the baby is coming...other than to say that you will most definitely not be pregnant forever :-)

Even being dilated, effaced, losing your mucus plug, etc is not a good a indication of when labor will start. Many women, and I have known some myself, are dilated even up to 4 cm for weeks before giving birth. Or they lose their mucus plug weeks before giving birth.

Good luck! You will have your baby soon...just consider it a sweet surprise as to exactly when.

  3. sorry to say that it could still be weeks until delivery.  my baby has been low since 25 weeks and i am now 36 weeks.  baby has been so low the doctors often have hard times getting his measurements.

  4. Just like what most other people said you probably have a few weeks to go. Until your having contractions and the doctor says its very low then you still have time sorry =( My fiance is 40 weeks as of tomorrow, shes been having irregular contractions for 36 hours and we went to the doctor today and less then a knuckle in he could feel his head. =) So I get to be a dad VERY soon. Just waiting for the 5 minutes apart time. Shes at about 8-10 minutes apart regularly right now.

  5. Hopefully he's not born too soon since it says you aren't do until 9/23. The longer he cooks in there the better. My 2nd pregnancy was twins and Twin A was engaged for several weeks before I went into labor at 34weeks. But then my last one he was high up, sealed tight and everything and I went into labor at 36 weeks.

  6. No :-(  I am due right before you and have been extemely very very very low, not to mention he is supposed to be 8lbs now!!  Anyhow I have been told I could still go 40+ weeks...  Thank heaven my c-section is in a little over a week lol!!

  7. I have 2 kids and am due with 3rd late oct/early nov.  All my kids (including this one) were 'engaged' prior to 30wks.  It doesn't necessarily mean the child will arrive early but it can really speed up the labour. My 2nd child-birth was over 6min after the midwife broke my waters!

If the baby's sitting low you may find- 'braxton hicks' contractions may feel more intense, you may suffer lower stomach (around ovary area) and lower back discomfort. Try to 'take it easy' (when you can) and good luck!
