At about the same time, my dome light and cigarette lighter stopped working in my 1989 Honda Accord LXi. I've checked all the fuses visually and with a fuse tester and they are all in working order. I've checked the bulb in the dome light and it looks fine. I checked the lighter for debris and it's clear. How do I fix this?

  1. There might be an open in the wiring. At some point after the fuse those two wires are spliced together sharing the same fuse. If the fuse is good but neither are working there has to be an open between the fuse and that splice. look up a wiring diagram.

  2. Did you ck the fuses under the hood? They have redundant fuses in the dash and in the fuse box near the engine.

  3. Did you make sure that the switch is in th right spot,Look up at the dome light and you should see a switch right beside the light,it should have three setting off/on/and thewhen you put the switch in the middle the light's should come on when you open the door's..As for as the lighter goes,do you have something else that you can plug into it to see if it will work,if it still dose'nt work then you must have a wire or a fuse that is bad ,if the lighter itself is'nt bad.
