  1. Open the door.

    Pop off the plastic.

    Undo screws and wiring.

    Take off.

Do the same to your daughters car.

Put it back on the same way you took it off.

  2. I dont know the specific instructions for a civic but it is fairly simple to replace a mirror. Open the door and there is usually a plastic cover behind where the mirror is. It is usually clipped on and will come off fairly easily. There is probably a few bolts or maybe screws inside there. Take all these out and it should come off then. If the car has electric mirrors there will be a clip for the wires that has to come off aswell.

  3. You'll be hard pressed to find a junkyard that will allow you to remove a mirror from a good door.  They are in business to sell to body shops - in general, they are complete jerks to individual customers.  I use to love going to the yard and wandering around, getting bits and pieces, and paying $5-20 for a bag full.  Now, your are escorted everywhere, charged 50% of NEW RETAIL (so your mirror might be $50-75) and treated like dirt.  Junkyards are a joke and will soon be out of business in favor of the more proactive shops that deal on the web.

Best bet: find one on eBay, already your body color and FAR, FAR cheaper.
