  1. Take the underground (picadilly line) from heathrow to kings cross (no change required) , get off and then get on the train to glasgow, very easy . check out www.tfl.gov.uk for more info and maps etc

quicker way (but a bit more difficult) would be the heathrow express (www.heathrowexpress.com) to paddington station, then a bus/taxi or underground to kings cross and change there on to the train to Glasgow

  2. Get a taxi or bus to Kings Cross Station

  3. The Piccadilly line goes from Heathrow airport to King's Cross station. Travel time is just over 60 minutes. These are regular subway cars, but the subway cars are designed to  have room near the door to put your luggage. There are no luggage racks. Bring a chain lock since people are hopping in and out of the car, and someone might jump out with your luggage. People tend to sit on the luggage when the train gets crowded.

Trains from King's cross to Glasgow are as fast as 5:17 and sometimes up to an hour longer. Non-stop trains are available, but transfers are not difficult. Fares start at £45.50 one way.

Someone mentioned the Heathrow Express as being a faster train. It's kind of an illusion to think you can save time. Heathrow Express is 15 minute ride to Paddington Station, but trains leave every 15 minutes. Once you are at Paddington you still have to go another 2.5 miles to King's Cross. A taxi is expensive. A subway is cheap, but these subway cars do not have extra room for luggage. At rush hour, they won't even let you on the trains.

The Piccadilly line is 60 minutes, and a train leaves every 5 minutes. It's just easier to get on at Heathrow and ride the one line the entire way. It's also a whole lot cheaper.

If you really aren't going to visit London, you should check into flying. There are fares that begin at £99 round trip from Heathrow to Glasgow airport. Flight times are about 80 minutes each way.
