The edges of my red microfiber couch have been worn off and look black against the red. How can I repair it?

It looks awful! What do you suggest to fix it? It isn't that it is dirty, the red is actually worn off. It's only 3 years old, it is just from cleaning it the way they told me to. The chair and ottoman are still perfect so we would like to be able to salvage the couch if possible. Thanks.

No repair. The fabric is damaged. Why not slipcover it in a complimentary fabric?
