The effects of changes on children (ie new routines) and how to help them manage them?

Change can be unsettling for some children so you need to support them by explaining in simple terms the changes that will take place and why you are changing the routine. Be sensitive to the needs of some children that do not benefit from consistent routines at home and so are safe and secure in the setting due to routines, therefore if change is necessary make it one thing at a time so as not to disrupt.
