The electrical lighting relay in my electrical room at work is buzzing, do I need an Electrician?

  1. No, lights buzz. Chemistry, physics, etc.

    Point is, no problem there.


  2. as long as its not extremely loud  it should be OK,

  3. Relays will hum and buzz when get old.  No big deal.

    It is not dangerous, but it may be annoying.

    If you are disturbed by the noise, change it.

  4. Relays do buzz but if it is excessive it may need to be replaced.  With relays, if the contactor is functioning properly it may hum slightly the bigger question is do all the lights on that relay function properly or do they flicker?  If the lights are being affected then it is possibly time for a new one; if not it is a how annoying is the sound question and does it impair your work ability.
