All religions have some form of apocalypse or end to the world as we know it. Yes the mayan calendar ends on 12-12-2012 and they have never been wrong with any of their other predictions as we know it. As this may be the end of the world in the book im reading now called 2012, it explains that the end of this world could mean the beginning of a new world. One not physical but mental. If you follow patterns predicted with the i-ching from tao and timewave the program designed by terrence mckenna then 2012 is your best bet.

People believe the world is going to end all the time.  The Apostles thought it would happen in their life time. Many astrolgers would predict the end of times when planets aligned. When the bubonic plague killed half of Europe they thought that was it. When there was WW1 and the flu epidemic in 1918 people thought that was going to be it.

I remember in the 60s and 70s some India guru predicted the end of the world and many committed suicide.. I remember people going to Mufreesboro Tennessee because someone said that was where the end of the world was going to happen.  It was said by Jesus that no one knows the day nor the hour only the Father.. Jesus was about as close you can get to the source.

The world ends when Jesus returns in His power and majesty and divides the wheat from the weeds.  When .. God only knows.

I don't believe it will happen anytime soon, but if we keep wasting resources and treating our planet like we do, it might not be around for very much longer. However, I choose not to fret on the HOW and WHEN. I do my part to keep the planet in check, and I live my life. Life is already too short to worry about the death of life.

according to the mayan calender the world will end on decemeber 12, 2012 (12-12-12)

scientifically speaking our sun will last a couple thousand years till it explodes because it is a star when that happens we dont really know what wil happen.

i think we have a better chance of humanity and war tearing this world to shreds before it naturally ends as you put it.

Sorry, I do not forsee an end yet so it won't happen in a real long time indeed. Not in the next 300 years at least but I do see is that you worrying about the end of the world will make your life much shorter if you don't stop it.
