The ending to Street Kings?

I hate to be confounded by such a mediocre film. At the end, was Hugh Laurie also a dirty cop and his also dirty higher-ups just wanted to get rid of Forrest Whitaker's character? And that now that Whitaker's out of the way they can get back to their own dirty business?

  1. I do not think it was important to the plot exactly how corrupt Hugh Laurie's characterwas.  Whether he was overly corrupt or not corrupt, Keanu Reeves' entire unit was dirty and blackmailing high-ranking police and other politicians (even if Reeves was not aware of it).  By taking down Whitaker and the unit, he was removing more corrupt figures from the police force.  Even if Laurie was corrupt, Whitaker was more corrupt, and Reeves intentions are good (which is the overall point of the movie).
