Hi.

this Endlesspool seemed intereasting as you dont have to build a big pool. You even can have itin your room/house. But I'm worryed about the speed and how it works. I mean. Is it fast enough for trainning on laps? I like swimming but I also need to swim to heal my arm from an injury. Please give some feedbacks and comments if you had tryed it before!

thanks.

  1. I know Mark Foster used to train in one in Germany, since he was the World Record holder on 50 metres free and fly at the time and he could not get to the end of it when it was on full speed, I would imagine it is fast enough for training laps (it can be used at slow speed also though).

I would imagine its very expensive to run and maintain, but if money is no object then get one, I would love to have one

  2. I had a friend that had one and she let me try it. It will go as fast as you will every want to go.

The key thing to remember is that it is essentially a treadmill. That means:

-- You set the speed and it keeps going.

-- You can't speed up and slow down on a whim; you need to change the speed setting.

-- The view never changes (although there is a mirror on the bottom so you can check your form.)

-- There are never any flipturns.

I have always been a distance swimmer (and thus tolerant of drudgery), but just a few minutes in an Endless Pool was DRIVING ME NUTS. I couldn't do it.

I suggest you arrange a free trial swim. The company will put you in touch with a current owner where you can give it a spin. (The company pays people for these tryouts.) Maybe it will work great for you.
