Question:

The ends in my hair are broken and dry; will this hair still grow? How can I get it silky?

I use my flatiron 4 times a week.

My hair is naturally wavy, almost straight but I like the ends to be super straight.

I've noticed that the ends of my hair are now dry and broken.

I do not want to cut it though, my hair is short as it is.

Will my hair still grow even if the ends are messed up? or do I really need a trim?

Are tthere any good ways to repair this without getting a haircut?

  1. Just trim the split ends, if you don't...it'll only get worse because the split will travel up the shaft. When you straighten your hair or use any heat appliances in this case, always use heat protectant/serum to minimize heat damage. DEEP CONDITION once a week, air dry your hair. Basically less heat the better.

  2. yes your hair will still grow because your hair grows at the roots of your head not at the end. you mite want 2 get your split ends cut off every 6weeks and try using pantine tine renewal leave in spray

  3. Use flat beer to help prevent spit ends do it once or 2 times a month put it straight on your hair, wrap it in a towel for 1 to 2 hours and rinse out. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c...  for more remedies and details.

  4. Try Using Alberto VO 5 Hairdressing, Watch These Videos.

  5. Flatirons use heat to straighten the hair.  It's taking a toll on your normally healthy ends.  A trim is in order, plus finding another way to style your hair straight.  Healthier hair is still there, for it does grow from the scalp outward.  Check the salons or the local stores for a restorative treatment.  Be kind to your hair!

  6. Trim your hair. No there are not good ways to repair it unless you find some magic way of sewing spit ends together. Shine serums and anti-frizz serums are a daily temporary fix but they don't repair them.

Plus why do you want dead hair anyway it's ugly.

Also...I guess you didn't know that hair doesn't grow from the ends it grows from the roots, which means, yes, it will grow. But since your hair is so damaged it will keep breaking and splitting and not really look much longer.

Suck it up and get a trim, you dont have to shave your head or anything, just a couple 2 or 3 inches.

  7. Your hair will still grow because hair grows from the scalp not from the ends....but hears the deal, your hair will always look messy and uneven because the ends are damaged and split....so your only choice is to get a little trim......if youre gonna sport a short cut, it needs to look polished and split ends dont say polished!

  8. i hate to say it but the only way to fix this is getting a trim it doesnt have to be an inch, jsut like a 1/2 inch. and it should take away all damage. then what i use is a shampoo called tresemee. they have shampoo for diffrent needs the one i use though is the anti-breakage. it helps SOO much. i straighten ym hair adn blow dry it almost every day and i DONT get split ends. its soo nice! you can buy it at wal mart for liek 3 bucks. and its a big bottle too so it will last you a long time especially if ur hair is shorter.

    so try that.

as much as u mite not watn to just get a 1/2 inch trim

    then buy tresemee anti-breakage shampoo.

    use it everyday and WAHLA!!

trust me.its defintley worth it to get the trim besdies...hair grows back fast!

    hope i helped! =)

  9. I have the same problem and don't want to cut my hair either. I use a heat tamer spray by TRESemme. You spray it on your hair before flat-ironing it and it protects your hair from the damage.

  10. Head and shoulders conditioner

  11. just because ur hair is dry on the ends doesnt mean there split to the girl above..i am a hairdresser...ok well ur  hair will keep grownin but because its in bad condition the ends are goin to keep breakin so u need lots of moisture treatments even use a treatment as conditioner..ive done it b4..and u need to get a trim every 6 weeks i promise it will grow quicker.. the more healthy ur hair is the quicker ity will grow

  12. you can try using a super moisturizing shampoo/conditioner, which i would recommend herbal essences hello hydration! on an every other day basis, and also try using garnier fructis hydrating hair masque once a week... also remember that when showering, try and wait 5 min after you apply your conditioner to rinse.... this won't help the ends get repaired (only a haircut will do this), but it will prevent further breakage and help the ends you do have be more moisturized....

and then as soon as it gets a little longer, i would definitely recommend cutting it before the ends break further.... hope this helps :)
