Question:

The energy around us........?

Now, scientists are able to prove that the "Chi" or energy is involved and very much a part of every living thing. So, that being a fact, is it not possible to focus our quite intelligent minds to somehow manipulate it? What do you think?

  1. No, 'chi' has not been proven, and it's actually considered to be bunk pseudoscience when people try to apply the concept to the physical world.  It's more of an untestable metaphysical concept, which most scientists would agree is rather useless (just as all metaphysics are) when working with the physical, scientific world.

'Energy' is defined as (mass*velocity^2)/2.  It's often put into words as 'the ability to do work.'  Anyone who uses the word energy to mean anything else is talking nonsense.

Often you hear new-agers talk about 'energy' as if it's some mystical, invisible presence that pervades the universe, which can be manipulated, as you suggest, to have physical effects.  This is not what energy is, and they only use the word energy because the layperson does not understand what energy is, so it sounds scientific and they are fooled into believing.

Next time you hear someone say something about energy, replace it with 'the ability to do work' and see if it still makes sense.

'The ability to do work is involved in every living thing' does not make sense.

'Can we focus our mind to control the ability to do work' does not make sense.

'How much ability to do work does that hydroelectric dam produce' DOES make sense, which is why 'How much energy does that dam produce' makes sense.

  2. All matter is energy basically. I dont think are minds are able to do the things your thinking of.  Maybe in the distant future, but I'd also like to see this prove that your speaking of. Can you provide a article, mathmatics, or a press release? Thanks.

  3. All matter is a form of concentrated energy.  I used to be a nuclear weapons technician for the DoD.  I can't tell you the exact amount but imagine a ball of uranium about the size of a softball.  When you split the atoms in these weapons, they release enough energy to level an entire city.  Matter being concentrated energy.

  4. You would be surprised by how many elite physicists have agreed on this.

  5. Victoria -

While it is true that matter and energy are two different forms of the same thing, it is not true that "Chi" as you refer to it has been proven or even considered by scientists to be part of every living thing, - or every non-living thing for that matter.

What you are referring to is New Age re-interpretation of Oriental mythology, and scientists generally don't waste their time with stuff that they cannot discuss in terms of mathematics or physics - but only in terms of feelings or emotions. It has nothing to do with science. For you to state it as a "fact" is disingenuous. Please provide the documentation references - in the language of science (i.e. mathematics) that support your conclusion.

  6. yes...obviously energy is a form of every living thing. have you not gotten to sixth grade science yet? simply breathing requires energy. in fact, being dead requires energy too. matter is energy, so a skeleton is made of energy.

it has nothing to do with chi you psycho

  7. It's about the zero point energy field. That is where telepathy, Chi, telekinesis and all sorts of things we call into the supernatural seem to come from.

It is much like the 'force' as in starwars. A sea of energy surrounding all things and binding all things. We are not disconnected to the Chi or field subconsciously. Consciously, yes. We get blips here and there in the consciousness.

I believe the ancients possessed this advancement where they could manipulate matter through thought alone. The hieroglyphs in Egypt seem to display this interaction here and there. But of course, this would be mind boggling, so we don't see much of that in the stoneworks. To keep it secret of course. We are at a time when this sort of thing will come to be percievable once again. That is why "merlin" and others of wizardry are fables, talking about something which was very real.

  8. Scientists have proved no such thing. "Chi" energy is total bullshit, so the answer to the rest of your question is "no."
