Does anyone know the products for the reaction Fe2O3 + H2SO4? I know Fe2(SO4)3 is produced, but is the other product just H2O?

Thanks for any help!

  1. Fe2O3 + 3 H2SO4 -> Fe2(SO4)3 + 3 H2O

  2. Yes, the other product is H2O. Fe2O3 is a basic oxide so it reacts with acids to form a salt and water, in this case the salt is Fe2(SO4)3.

    Equation is:

    Fe2O3 + 3H2SO4====>Fe2(SO4)3 + 3H2O
