  1. If this is a shot at evolution in the hopes of supporting creationism, give me a break.

I'd put more stock in a potentially flawed scientific theory that is at least TRYING to figure out the truth, than blindly accept myths and magic.

  2. exactly my thought. Why are there apes still left? Why did all of them not turn into humans? How come they are not evolving now?? Those are the reasons i do not believe in evolution.

  3. hmm that is a very good point.  do those cavemen in the gieco commercials count??

  4. You mean aside from

    Sahelanthropus tchadensis

    Orrorin tugenensis

    Ardipithecus ramidus

    Australopithecus anamensis

    Australopithecus afarensis

    Kenyanthropus platyops

    Australopithecus africanus

    Australopithecus garhi

    Australopithecus aethiopicus

    Australopithecus robustus

    Australopithecus boisei

    Homo habilis

    Homo georgicus

    Homo erectus

    Homo ergaster

    Homo antecessor

    Homo heidelbergensis

    Homo neanderthalensis

    Homo floresiensis New

    Homo sapiens sapiens

    ?

  5. tonalc1 has got the answer for you.

you should do research before asking such questions.

  6. The evolution of man is based on the idea that man and apes have a common ancestor. I would say it claims man has evolved from monkeys, but I know how much this riles evolutionists.

All of the intermediates that have been found have either been frauds, misinterpretations, or just plain wishful thinking. Consider the following:

Homo Erectus- Constructed from 6 bones that obviously did not go together, hidden for 20 years, and discredited by scientific peers.

Nebraska Man- One tooth was found and the discovers thought that it belonged to a half-man half-ape. It turned out that it really belonged to a kind of extinct pig.

Piltdown Man- Proven fraud. Some guys took a human skull and an ape jaw and made them fit together, used acid to make it look old, buried it, and "discovered" it.

Lucy- A partial skeleton of a tree-climbing primate. The knee joint was found in a different location and was obviously human. I also heard that the pelvis belonged to a small girl.

I could go on, but it is wearisome to read long responses on the screen.

Evolution is a cruel hoax that has fooled billions of people. Future generations will laugh at us, but people like me will be seen as the rational ones.

  7. There is fairly recent evidence that suggests that neanderthals  where still around in, i think it was asia, alongside homo sapiens. We were probably better adapted to the environment or killed them off.

Oh, and I swear that question "if we evolved from apes then why are they still around" has got to be the most annoying ever. Mainly because anyone thats studied evolution knows that we didn't evolve from apes, we evolved from a common ancestor of the apes. We're a different branch of the tree.

  8. Man DIDN'T evolve from anything!!! There is no imperical evidence to show it. Only people intrepreting skelital structures and conjecturing they are ancestral to human. Not withstanding the constant barrage of evidence that these skeletons were either  A) Human 100%  B) Ape/Monkey etc.

  9. tonalc1 has shown you that there were intermediate species. However creationists will then carp that there are no intermediate species between the intermediate species and so on.

As for the "Why are there still apes" Rephrase the question this way: "I went to the store and bought the newest fashions. Why are there still old clothes in my closet?"

The formal answer is a matter of apes adapting to their enviorment. Apes have ecological niches for which they are well suited.
