Scientists are trying to synthesize elements with more than 114 protons. State the expected atomic number of:

2) the new element with properties similar to those of the alkaline earth metals.

3) the new element that will behave like the halogens

4) the new element that will start period 8

5) the new (non transition) metal whose ion will have a +2 charge

I have no idea how to figure these out, any help is appreciated!!!

1) the newest inert gas is Uuo number 118 (following RN) on column 18 which have 8 electrons

2)answer : 119  1 electron on shell n=8 8s1

3) answer :117 one electron less than UuO

4) same than answer2

5) answer 120 which outer shell 8s2
