The fabric on the ceiling of my car is starting to detach? How can I fix this?

There are buttons to prevent the separation from going any further, but it looks tacky to have the cloth hanging down. Can I even fix this, or would I have to get all of it replaced?

I would strongly suggest replacing it, the glue on your present fabric has deteriorated and has begun to release, it costs more to repair than to replace the headliner, a good auto glass outlet usually has a trim technician who can fix you up

Insure it, leave the keys in it and park in a rough neighborhood with the windows rolled down.

Thats how you fix that problem.

Go to your local auto store, There they will have these little twisty roof tacks, that are like a spiral tacks, which will secure the fabric back up to your roof.

If you are having trouble around the edges, or don't want the tacks showing, maybe try hot glue between the fabric and the roof.

3M sells the spray glue to re attach the headliner it is not a 2 minute job thou it wll take time and patience to do it right,good luck
