Question:

The fan in my living room doesn't blow air. Does anyone know why?

So the AC in my apartment runs constantly but the living room never gets cooled. So we installed a ceiling fan in there but it hasn't helped at all. It is actually pretty close to the ceiling since we underestimated how small the connector on top was. So if you put your hand close to the fan, you can barely feel any air at all moving. I am positive that the blades are moving in the right direction by the way.

Anyone know what I could do? Any general suggestions on how to cool down our living room as well? The AC works great in the bedroom and feels nice, but never in the living room.

Thanks!

  1. Have marble tiling in your living room. White tiling. And a lot of white furniture. How big is your living room? You should get an air-con suitable for the size of your living room. Ceiling fans are kinda useless. Get a portable fan which you can turn it towards yourself

  2. a fan draws air,... if there is not enough space (sounds like your problem) between the fan blades and the ceiling it can't draw air in order to blow it. Get a 6" extension kit.  Those  ceiling/hugger fans will never blow air like a fan that is extended 6"- 12" below the ceiling
