The fan doesn't always run, so it's quiet sometimes, but for the most part, if the computer is ON, it's very loud. I have no idea why it's like this. Can anyone tell me what I can do to stop this noise besides turning the computer off? Thanks!

  1. you could rip the fan off and watch your computer heat up and burn everything! Its just a protection so your computer won't heat up. Its just that your computer reaches a temp. and the computer activates the fan. You could replace your fan.

  2. Push [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete] and click on the processes tab.

See what is taking a lot of CPU power to run.

  3. I experienced that before. My hp laptop is very loud and its like that there is a robot inside...Your fans cool the components inside when they get hot. minimize the application usage and terminate some processes. Fans turn off when your system is in normal temperature, then on again when it gets hotter. You can replace your fans with some new quiet fans.

  4. Get a can of compressed air and a vacuum and clean the vents on the computer.

  5. Have you ever opened your case up?  It is really good to at least every 6 months to open it up and use canned air and blow all the dust bunnies out.  The dust gets in there and can pretty much render stuff unable to use sometimes. Also I hope when its not loud it is still running you dont want that fan burning out.   It is probably loud from dust bunnies so try cleaning it out and see if that works ^_^

  6. is it really annoying?? if it is u should get a liquid cooling system but it is expensive, your computer does that for the safety of your computer to not overheat

  7. Everbody will give you a physical cause dust heat or bad hard drive. Which is all wrong and absurd. The chances of it being dust is like 1 in 1000.  But it is making a lot of noise because it's working. What causes it to  work using memory or CD drive. Trojans and viruses are the cause I had a trojan was sucking up my memory press ctrl alt delete check out processes. Some viruses also run your cd drive continously . The anti software Mcaffee Norton is no good it attracts viruses lol. Reinstall from the recovery disc that came with your computer. Then download firefox instead of internet explorer. And most importantly and the hardest part is to stop surfing p**n.
