  1. Not an easy question.  One thing to take into consideration is the fact that some fighters have both fast hands and footwork.  Others have only one.  I should think on it but you said answer quick so here goes......................

Hvt.  Muhammad Ali hand and foot.  Church boy Floyd was often given the nod by Ali haters but he's a distant second at best.  I'll give him that.  As for footwork, not even close.

Lt Hvy.  Roy Jones Jr.  PLEASE look at the films and tell me if Billy Conn EVER hit anyone with FIVE hooks in a row.  Roy KO'd my cousin (Bryant Brannon) and I was there live.  I also saw the Griffith and Pazienza fights live.  Conn is a distant second unless you place Tunney there.

Middle:  Robinson edges Michael Nunn for footwork (remember him?).  Shot for shot he edges the 160 Leonard who slowed considerably when he moved up.

Welter:  Leonard,  Robinson, Judah, Mosley, Hearns..........  I think Leonard edges Robinson though The Original has more weapons and better balance.  He's like Tommy Hearns and Leonard rolled in one.  Judah and Mosley can match Leonard and all edge Hearns for multi punch.  Hearns' speed is more one shot at a time.

Nino Larocca deserves mention too though he had nothing else besides speed.   Donald Curry let the air outta his baloon QUICKLY.

Light:  Meldrick Taylor< I dont think anyone is as fast as Mel.  Its too bad he wasn't a smarter fighter.

    Hector Camacho, Shane Mosley,

Floyd Mayweather: Floyd was faster at 135 than 147.  He's really not as fast as some of the above.  He's very accurate and waits until he has you in trouble (which is smart)  before letting loose.   The TRUE test is to be offensively fast,  like he was against the poorly defensive Gatti.

Feather:  Nazeem Hamed:  Not many were as fast.

Salvador Sanchez:  Naz was clearly faster than Sal but Sal threw A LOT of punches.

more later.  my brain hurts.  LOL

  2. Mayweather, De La Hoya even acknowledged he can't match his speed in the ring and so he is able to match him only with exact timing on counterpunches

  3. I can't answer in weight class but all time:

    Camacho

    Leonard

    Jones

    Robinson

    Meldrick Taylor

  4. Heavy - Ali

Lght Heavy - RJJ (made everyone look they they were in slow motion

Middle - RJJ (simply the fastest hands above 130 ever)

Welter - Ray Leonard (see if you can catch the right hook he hit Hearns with)

Light - Mosley (at that weight he was lighting)

    Feather - Pep

  5. You didn't state whether you're looking for "all-time" or the "present" so I'll include fighters from the past.

    Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali

    Cruiseweight - Evander Holyfield

    Lightheavyweight - Roy Jones, Jr.

    Supermiddleweight - Roy Jones, Jr.

    Middleweight - Sugar Ray Robinson

    Superwelterweight - Sugar Ray Leonard

Welterweight - Sugar Ray Leonard/Ray Robinson

    Superlightweight - Aaron Pryor

    Lightweight - Pernell Whitaker

    Superfeatherweight - Manny Pacquiao

    Featherweight - Willie Pep

    Superbantamweight - Manny Pacquiao

    Bantamweight - Eder Jofre

    Flyweight - Ricardo Lopez

  6. WALTERWIEGTH IS ANTONIO MARGARITO

    FEATHERWIEGTH IS PAQUIAO

  7. I'll have to do some thinking on this so I'll have to come back to it later.

Heavyweight.  No doubt about it, Muhammad Ali hands down!

Cruiserweight:  Got to go with Evander Holyfield.  Could easily say Ezzard Charles or Gene Tunney as they were probably cruiserweights naturally although they never fought as such.

Light heavyweight.  Going to go with Billy Conn.  Look at what trouble that handspeed caused Joe Louis.

Middleweight:  Sugar Ray Robinson may have had the fastest hands in boxing history.

Welterweight:  Again Sugar Ray Robinson!  Close second will be with Sugar Ray Leonard.

Taking a break.  Will complete this one later.

Roy Jones Jr has to be included on this.  He fought at anywhere from 160-200 so I'm not sure where to put him as yes my friend Galactus he is faster than Conn and probably even faster than Ali as he did beat Ruiz as a heavyweight too.

I'm going to put him at middleweight and a tie with Sugar Ray Robinson as I still don't think he was faster than him.

Lightweight:  Meldrick Taylor had blazingly fast hands.  Hector Camacho was also fast but Taylor gets the nod here.

Bantamweight:  This is a hard choice, but I'm going with Jeff Chandler here.  Others come to mind like Zarate, Eder Jofre, and Jeff Fenech, but I'm sticking with Chandler.

Featherweight:  Nazeem Hamed.  Very fast fighter and in my opinion, the quickest at this weight with respect to Sanchez and Pep.

Flyweight:  I am going with Jimmy Wilde here.  He was a complete fighter with speed, power, and boxing skills.

  8. 1. Mayweather 2.Cassius Clay 3.Ray Leonard  4.Roy Jones Jr.
