The favourite trio for today’s race at Market Rasen – National Hunt Preview
Market Rasen horseracing track is set to host Racing UK Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at 4:50 on Sunday, February 19.
The Class 6 contest of 2m1f distance contains 9 entries named as Swinging Sultan, Cian Boy, Red Burn, Spagetti Western, TWM Sion Cati, Hi George, New Year’s Eve, Lady Oglier and The Carden Arms.
Out of the nine, five runners including Cian Boy, Red Burn, Spagetti Western, TWM Sion Cati and The Carden Arms are going to stage debuts today.
Here we figure out the three favourite horses who are expected to fill the top three boxes on the result card.
Hi George
Malcolm’s black gelding is currently floating with form after winning a big race on January 11 at Doncaster. Running against his 7 rivals, the four-year-old talented gelding demonstrated outstanding fighting spirit and notched up the top spot nicely.
Prior to this, the Mr & Mrs Young-owned runner also performed well, though not won, in the first two races of his career. On October 30, 2011, he finished second at Carlisle while he stood third on November 18, 2011 in a tough contest at Haydock track.
These three starts have well exposed the dashing runner’s inherent capabilities and made him a favourite for today’s Hunt. Hi George is supposed to run well and finished first in this event.
New Year’s Eve
Trained by John Ferguson, the novice gelding is going to run just for the second time since his debut on January 5, 2012. In his very first race at Ludlow, the enthusiastic runner marvellously grabbed first position against 6 opponents. He was 8-13 favourite
for that event.
Now the black gelding is expected to strike again today at Market Rasen and unleash immense firepower. The four-year-old will give enough tough time to Hi George. However, he is likely to finish second.
Swinging Sultan
The trainee of Keith Reveley has been enjoying great form since bagging his first victory on December 22, 2011. During one year of his career, the five-year-old has run for three times, finishing second in his maiden race and grabbing 11th position
in the second one.
His past performances depict that the black gelding possesses great talent and sheer spirit. He is set to do well again today and earn at least third top rank.
Conclusion
Thus, today’s National Hunt race will be a rip-roaring competition among the trio as each of them is tough enough. However, the debutants are greatly unpredictable and uncertain. Let us see how they start their careers.
