The first Law in Journalism 101?

Have no bias standpoint. If you are biased, state that your biased.

All my life i watched the news. CNN, even local news. Then i actually listened to them and realised they have this huge agenda and are totally one sided.

Now i wonder if it was better to just be ignorant or to finally see how pathetic media is. They don't even follow the first law in Journalism.

  1. I believe, a news reporter may have a bias, not always state that bias, and still report the news fairly. For example, I believe that the late Tim Russert whose background was quite liberal attempted to keep his personal history  in check 80% of the time -- you can't expect anyone not to let personal bias effect the reporting sometimes.  It is up to the viewer to analyze & decide if an agenda is being given or the news is being reported.  I know people may not like CNN or Fox News, or the major three networks because they perceive the news as biased (and that perception is often correct) -- my suggestion is to go to more than one source.  Take what you see or hear or read with the proverbial   "grain of salt."
