  1. San Francisco...that's a shocker. They're always so open minded and level headed out there.

  2. it wont bring in the projected money(although I'm sure their already spending it) because all the business's will just move to Nevada or continue moving their manufacturing plants to India or China as they've been doing for years.

it will actually result in LESS revenue because the people who were working for those business's will no longer pay taxes when their jobs are gone & the state has to support them..

  3. Shocker there. Leave it to the best of the bleeding heart  liberals. Yea Ahnold like Mc cain is in the wrong party.

  4. Definitely the first in many.  The Dems will line up to try to stick it to the corporations but they will in reality stick it to everybody as they always do.  Those taxes they place on industry will be passed on.

Note:  Actually the following answer made a good point, I should include moderate Repubs with Dems also

  5. globalwarming is b.s.,the problem is Americans have finally been brainwashed, thanks to democrat/liberal control of public schools, liberal media constantly drumming false information into public educated Nimrods,we our now on the verge of the destruction of the American nation, why liberals only complain about America, they forget liberal canada drills for oil on the tundra, and is the #1 oil supplier to the U.S.,no problems there for libs, the world at large has more cars, power plants, factories, people, but we are the problem,i wonder how many libs in the U.S.,have a car, electricity in their homes, food, clothing, anything, and everything is made from oil, idiot democrats, just like the Romans metro-sexual weenies will be the end of our nation!

  6. Actually our Governor signed that into law. Schwartzenegger is a Republican.  While Speaker Nunez (D-Los Angeles) first brought this matter to the floor, it is not uncommon for Dems and Reps to work together for the common good. In fact it is encouraged.

I don't think your rhetorical question about Dems has any basis from the statement you have made about this Global Warming Policy, which a Republican signed into Law.

  7. What is wrong with defending the homeland from environmental disasters? Why do you believe that you personally should not do your part to defend the homeland?

  8. LAST YEAR CONGRESS ORDERED THE  E.P.A. TO PROVE TO THEM THAT NON- SOLIDS PENETRATE THE OZONE, BUT THEY COULD'NT DO IT, BECAUSE ALL NON-SOLIDS DECIPATE IN THE FRIDGID THINNED AIR ABOVE YOUR HEADS. START A SAFE FIRE AND WATCH WITH YOUR OWN EYES THE SMOKE DECIPATE. WHEN LARGE FOREST FIRES ARE SMOKING, HOW DO YOU THINK THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE FIRES, IF THE SMOKE DID'NT DECIPATE THE AIRCRAFT WOULD'NT BE ABLE TO COME IN AND DROP THEIR LOADS ON TARGET. THE SMOKE DECIPATES AS SOON AS IT GETS INTO THE FRIDGID THINNED AIR, THIS IS NATURES WAY OF PROTECTING EARTH. YOU PEOPLE ARE BEING TAKEN FOR A POLITICAL RIDE, ITS NOT POLLUTION. ITS POLITICIANS

  9. This tax will be passed onto to the consumers when they increase how much they charge for a kilowatt and any other services the plants affected by this tax provide the people in the Bay area. So I sure hope the Californians who wanted this are happy they got it.

Edit: Wow a thumbs down for telling the truth about how things work in our economy.

  10. As Jackie Gleason once said "to the moon!"

    Dems are quickly becoming

    the enemy of free choice

  11. Another example of political juxtapositions. It wouldn't really matter what party implemented what. Your going to have a down play on each parties issues regardless. Especially during  election years. One reason science, politics, and religion don't mix.

  12. I thought McCain supported cap and trade system.  Isn't that a tax (having to by credits to emit more?)  Air emissions NO2, SO2, CO, and Particulate Matter) are already regulated and permits to pollute must be purchased in the US for a lot of major emitting industries.  This just add CO2 to the list.

But, I agree with you that taxing is not the way to go.  Incentives to conserve energy and pollute less, developing innovative technologies that improve efficiency, and finding cleaner and sustainable fuel sources would benefit society more.  Taxation is the last resort and is pretty desperate.  Hope it doesn't come to that.

  13. LIAR!

    From the headlines:

SF Could Become First In Nation To Charge 'Pollution Fee'

Could become is no way the first official tax.

Typical GW doubter, resorting to outright lies to try and make some asinine contention.

You have been schooled so quit the lying, it only shows the depth that you will go to try and refute good science.

  14. Sweden imposed a tax on Carbon in 1991. Their economy is booming (GDP growing faster than US and inflation lower) and they are surpassing targets for reduced CO2 emission levels.  It's sad that the US is nearly 20 years behind them because of unsubstantiated fear-mongering about economic collapse if we do anything.

Why don't the AGW doubters apply some skepticism toward the dire economics predictions if the US responds to the global warming threat?

  15. To the hilt and they will demonize any that DARE to disagree or even wish to debate.
