The internet has only really been prominent since the mid to late 90's, so the first generation of kids who grew up with the internet are now in their late teens.

I've posted this question in the "SOCIOLOGY" cat, since I'm interested in it from that perspective.

  1. Madness

  2. I guess I'm in that category... well *just* out of it. I've noticed a lot of people younger than me (mid-teens) who's spelling (and grammar) is atrocious. I blame this on the degeneration of the english language through email and sms.

  3. lazyness is about it

  4. yes, the fact that i'm inside on a computer instead of outside with friends, enjoing myself, being healthy, active, sociable. before we got a computer i'd play outside (though maybe that was because i was younger)

  5. There are probably too many to mention. I imagine the statistics for childhood and teen obesity is one to consider. I think some kids have become so addicted to sites like Myspace, they become isolated from the real world. I'm not even counting the risks and dangers that exist from predators. I only wish parents would monitor more closely.

  6. I have to agree with Ryan O, there is many younger generations out there who could spell worth beans. Sadly thats technology for you and as well ALOT of anti socialness(Doubt that is a word). There has been more and more teenagers and children who are very anti-social because of the internet and video games...Which contributes to obesity and those gun shootings at schools. So sadly there has been a lot of bad effects out there because of the internet.

    P.S.

I am not one of those late teens...only 17.
