  1. I have lived in the mountains of Andalucia for about 16 years now and have no desire to go back to the U.K. or anywhere else for that matter.

My children all went to school in the local village school and feel more Spanish than British and I certainly think they had a much better and more relaxed childhood here than they would have had in England.

  2. we will send you a thunder storm just so you can remember what one is.lol

  3. I ,ve lived here for 18 years and would love to go back...but then i wonder if i would regret it after 6  months when the weather gets bad, so i,m still here.( malaga)

  4. Ive only lived here 2 years and would like to stay. The UK is out of my price range now and looking at the UK from the outside you see how much its gone to pot.

  5. Yes I've lived here for more than 10 years and the question is open whether I would ever want to go back to UK.  Very good forum at www.andalucia.com to talk to ex-pats who are here, who are coming out and some who are returning.  Main reasons for returning to UK seem to be family or health.

  6. you can never go back.I would, possibly  ,go and live in the bahamas. But i would never go back to the UK i,ve been there, done that,it would be totally different.not for the better.

  7. I have lived in Malaga for nearly 36 years....

35 years ago I married a spaniard, and we have 2 children aged 34 and 32, both born in Torremolinos...

I don't think I would know how to live anywhere else anymore, I've become too used to the good weather and the spanish people!

  8. I was in Fuengirola for 5 years and loved every minute, even the tacky Brits bits! I came home for a few months to look after my mother who was dying and kept all my options open to return.  I ended up staying in the U.K, and apart from the rotten weather I enjoy it! Although I don't qualify to answer your question I lived in Lanzarote for 6 years so I have qualified myself! If you are thinking of returning to the U.K my advice although contrary is NO.  You will feel like a second class citizen....unless you come here are a refugee East European etc...enjoy Salut :-)
