The following article was in a Scottish socialist newspaper calle "The Voice". Are their facts correct?

Please take some time to read the article posted in http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2043313/posts (it's too long to post here).

I know it's crappy communist propaganda (the newspaper it belongs to - "The Voice" - is a Scottish socialist newspaper by the way), and its sole purpose is fuel hate against the US, but I was wondering whether they actually have their economic facts right - whether the dollar is really as weak as the article claims?

I really don't know.  To be honest its not something that really interests me as a Scotsman.  I'm more concerned about the price of the Real in Brasil as I visit there often for family reasons.  Not sure why a Portuguese person should be so interested in a rubbish article in a fringe publication in Scotland.
