The forecast of Luke Donald at US Open
With his career glistening and sparkling with 11 Professional Wins, comprising of 4 PGA Tours, 6 European wins and a few other wins, the skyline of Donald’s golf career seems to be acquiring a new zenith among all his contemporaries.
Donald, with the help of his extremely inspirational and commendable performance, has been able to make his own identity in the game.
Where, at one point of time, people were only acquainted with players like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, now they see Donald making his place.
It is also important to accredit this Hertfordshire player for introducing homogeneity in the sport.
Through overpowering the element of capitalism in the game, he provided other golf players an opportunity to establish their own prestige and reputation in golf.
It is also important to mention here that apart from providing other golf players an opportunity to construct their own position and status, Donald, either intentionally or unintentionally, has cultured a new legacy that is being led by him and the young
Irish golfer, Rory McIlroy.
Apart from being the pioneers of this new lineage, both these golf players have been regarded as strong competitors of each other.
However, it was important for McIlroy to claim victory in the European Tour’s season-ending championship to provide Donald a setback in acquiring or maintaining his top seed position.
With a final score of 71, the Irishman had no other option than to satisfy him at the 11th position and keep his competitive edge for the upcoming season in 2012.
According to Donald, “I couldn’t see Rory’s name on the leaderboard but I knew the double was mine by the 13th hole”.
He also said that the achievements that he has acquired during his career in golf have made him capable enough to handle all the pressure conditions that he encounters while the matches are taking place.
Going home with a smile helps him in achieving what he has always desired.
On the flip side, McIlroy suffered a shock after he failed to deliver commendable performances in the recent events, through which he could have provided a tough time to his key competitor.
He expressed, “I couldn’t get anything going when I needed to. I played a nine-hole stretch, the last two on Friday and the first seven on Saturday, in five over par. That’s where the tournament got away from me”.
At the same time, he is also in full momentum to meet Donald in Abu Dhabi, when the next golf event will kick off in January.
Apart from considering the competitions and competitors, it is also important to have a look at the different components and apparatus that play an integral role in contributing to the success of any player within their very own capacity.
Topping the list of apparatus is the guidance and counselling that Donald has been given by his coach, Dave Alred.
Both of them formed an alliance in January 2011, when Donald was placed among the top 30. Within the span of a year, he has graduated to the top position.
It has all been because of his coach, his guidance and his different methods through which Donald has been able to overcome all loopholes and shortcomings present in his game.
Their key focus has been based on making practice as efficient as possible. With the help and consistent continuation of such practice techniques, the glory of Donald is not going to diminish anytime soon.
