Former English captain, Ian Botham is certain that England can win the Test series 4-0 – Cricket News Update
Ian Botham wrote in his column in the Daily Mirror, that he cannot see anything which may stop England from a 4-0 victory.
The Daily Mirror quoted him, “I can't see any reason why 4-0 isn't on...what is there to stop them (England) from making it 4-0? Not a lot in my eyes, and certainly not the brittle http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 batting line-up they're facing.”
Indians have added http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 to the squad after he was away from cricket for long. After missing the first 2 Tests, Sehwag is back for the 3rd, and the Indians are counting a lot on him. However, Ian Botham said that Sehwag will not be a
threat for England as he has had no First-class match practice for months.
Sehwag will be opening in the 3rd test with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, which concerns the former English batsman and he said, “Well if they think those two will turn fortunes around on their own, then think again because in the case of Sehwag certainly, opening the
batting in a Test match in England without any first-class cricket behind you in months, against this attack is anything but a walk in the park.”
Botham is confident that even an experienced opener like Sehwag cannot stop England from gaining a 4-0 victory against the World Champions.
Speaking further about the Indian batting line-up, Botham said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 seems to be the only batsman to watch out for. The Rest of them look ‘Fragile’.
The former English captain cited the fact that only Dravid has been able to display his talent and potential in the recent fixtures. He also added that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 have immense talent, technique and experience, but have not shown any
of it in the first two Test matches. Therefore, England does not consider them a threat.
Talking about the successful English team, Botham said that there are no changes required in the squad, and the hosts can play the same XI.
After the impressive performance with the bat and ball, Bresnan has become the first choice for Ian Botham, and he opined that even if Tremlett is fit for the next Test, Bresnan should not be left out.
