The present Proteas coach, Gary Kirsten, spoke to media and revealed that he is more than convinced that India has the ability to strike back in the Test series against England.
The former Indian coach believes that Indian cricket team has the tremendous ability to bounce back after being defeated in the 1st Test against the hosts at Lord’s. Kirsten warned the English team and those criticising Indians for losing the

Kirsten added that the Indian team has emerged as a very strong team and that was made possible by the players’ hard work and dedication. Therefore, the team should not be under estimated after their defeat in the opening fixture.
The former South African player backed his former team and said that India will strike back and has the potential to even win the Test series. According to him, India has a well balanced team with many senior and experienced players in the squad who can
make significant contribution in the upcoming matches.
In this interview, Kirsten was also questioned about his experience of coaching the Indian team which later on took the World cup in 2011. Kirsten recalled it as the most calm and peaceful experience of his coaching career.
The South African coach said that the seniors in the Indian team know how to behave and the dressing room is always calm and without any major arguments. India plays as a unit and there is commendable unity and support for the fellow members.
