The former World Champion, Randy Orton clutches fifth place in the Power 25 list of WWE
The Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science has revised the Power 25 list as per segments for last week. The former World Champion, Randy Orton dropped from his third place in the current week, as he is now placed at the fifth spot in the Power 25 list.
The Power 25, which is calculated for the events that took place between July 24 and July 30, is valid till August 6. The Viper, Randy Orton had already lost his World title to Christian at “Money in the Bank” due to losing his temper.
Last week, he was put into the fight against a Raw superstar, R-Truth who came into Friday Night SmackDown to interrupt The COO, Triple H. The Viper’s fight on July 29 was the main event of Friday Night SmackDown.
World Champion, Christian came into the ring during the match and tackled The Viper. While the referee was trying to get Christian to go back, R-Truth hit Orton with the bottle of water that caused The Viper to lose his temper once again.
The Viper started beating R-Truth with the steel chair that got him disqualified and he lost the fight. Due to losing his fight to R-Truth, Orton was dropped to fifth place in this week’s rankings. Although, The Viper brutally assaulted R-Truth in front
of the World Champion, Christian after losing the fight, but it was not taken into account for the rankings.
The COO also announced the World Championship match between The Viper and the Champion, Christian for WWE’s pay-per-view segment “SummerSlam” which will be taking place on August 14 at Los Angeles, California. The Viper had already demanded his title shot
against Christian two weeks ago on July 22 during Friday Night SmackDown.
However, the SmackDown General Manager, Theodore rejected his request as he already signed a match against Kane for that show. In the last week’s rankings, The Viper neither dropped his place nor jumped upward. He was on the same third place due to his huge
victory over Kane.
