The former World Champion, Randy Orton loses second place in WWE’s Power 25 list – WWE Update
The former World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton lost his second place in the Power 25 list of the WWE that was updated by the Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science (AWAS) for the weekend of September 17.
The Viper, Orton is placed third in the current week’s rankings by the WWE. The next rankings will be updated on upcoming Saturday and the Viper’s position is going to go down as he had already lost the World Heavyweight Championship to the World’s Strongest
Man, Mark Henry at The Night of Champions last Sunday.
The rankings for the current weekend were updated according to Monday Night Raw on September 12 and Friday Night SmackDown segments on September 16. The Viper participated in the both segments where he was assaulted by his rival Mark Henry in both events.
During Monday Night Raw, Orton faced the Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes in a non-title Champion vs. Champion match. Henry also joined their fight and watched on the ramp. Afterwards, due to interference of Henry, the Viper lost his fight to Rhodes.
Afterwards, Henry came inside the ring and hit Orton with a World’s Strongest Slam.
The Viper attended Friday Night SmackDown segment on September 16, where he joined the former WWE Superstar, Edge in his program “The Cutting Edge”. Henry was also guest in that program. The SmackDown General Manager had ordered Orton and Henry not to even
touch each other during Edge’s program. However, when Edge finished the program, they both started beating each other. The entire SmackDown roster tried to stop them but the World’s Strongest Man threw each superstar out and hit Orton with a World’s Strongest
Slam once again. Henry again demonstrated that he was the toughest superstar for the Viper to defend the Championship.
Due to these losses, the AWAS put the Viper one spot lower than the previous rankings and placed him on the third position. As the Viper has lost the Championship this week, he may be bumped off from the Top-5 superstars ranking.
