  1. No.. Not unless you were being tested specifically for it.  

    Drug tests look for a specific agent of the drug being tested for.


  2. No, otherwise dentists would not use Novacaine to numb you before having something done to your teeth.

  3. Are you speaking of a normal tox screen or pre-screen for employment? Then no.

  4. Nope.  First of all, we don't use Novocain much, if at all, these days.  We use lidocaine, bupivicaine and ropivicaine, and dentists use carbocaine.

    Novocain is a brand name for procaine.  That drug is metabolized in the blood by plasma psuedocholinesterase into para-amino benzoic acid (PABA), which is then excreted by the kidneys into the urine.  It would not cause a drug test to be positive for anything but PABA.

  5. No, you cannot. No one abuses novacaine, for obvious reasons. They don't even test for it.
