The four-year-old Belle Royale’s retirement confirmed by trainer Simon Callaghan
The Simon Callaghan trained, Belle Royale, has been retired from racing after an injury was detected in her tendon.
The connections believe that this injury could be fatal if she continues racing, and for the well-being of the runner decided to retire her from racing.

The decision was made in her best interest after trainer Callaghan and owner Michael Tabor consulted with her veterinarians.
Initially when the injury was discovered, the trainer thought it would recover soon as he stated on 6th July, 2012:
“She suffered a tendon injury. It’s a lesion on her tendon. We had some heat and thickening and we scanned it right away.
“It’s definitely something we need to give her some time off for. We’ll evaluate whether to retire her. She’ll probably need three months out.”
Now, Callaghan expressed his regret and told the press that:
“It’s very disappointing,” Callaghan remarked. “She’s as good a filly as I’ve trained. We thought she’d be a major factor at the Breeders’ Cup at the end of the year.”
Over the course of her career, the daughter of Val Royal, out of mare Kahyasi Moll, made only two starts in the United States, after she was transferred from England.
Upon arrival, the four-year-old competed in the American Beauty Stakes at Santa Anita Park on 7th April, 2012, where she swiftly covered the 1 mile distance and, completed the race in 1 minute and 33.09 seconds under rider,
Joel Rosario.
Together they stole the show and defeated, A Jealous Woman, while Go Forth North finished third.
The Irish bred filly maintained the same momentum when she entered the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes at the Betfair Hollywood Park in May, 2012.

With the same rider, she succeeded over the 1 1/8 mile track and defeated the Ben Cecil trained, Quiet Oasis, in 1 minute and 47.84 seconds.
The older division runner has a record of 10-7-0 and has career earnings worth $358,231. She has ended her career in a majestic manner with five consecutive victories in her last five starts.
It is sad to see a filly retire who had immense potential and a bright future ahead of her.
