The foxes that live in my garden are very light light orange almost white, is this normal?

  1. They are red foxes with an albino gene amongst them.  All animals carry the albino gene somewhere within their gene pool but it is a recessive gene and only shows up on rare occasions.  It will only show up with that level of frequency if it is somehow enabling them to survive better.  Watch out however if they start to get into their trash as red foxes like to mark their territory with a type of musk; if they like it as a food source they will mark it as their territory from other scavengers and their musk stinks!  It will take amonia to get that stench to go away.


  2. Are you sure they are foxes? They sound more like Martins.

  3. Light or dark, they're a good thing to have in the garden. They eat many things bad for your garden like mice,voles and bunnies. I have a pretty bold one that eats cat food with the rest of my cats. It's fun to see the interaction while eating breakfast.   RScott
