The french and x-rays?

i was out in cardiff lastnight and these french men (who had only a little english) were asking me what i did for a job-i was trying to explain about x-rays but they had no idea what i was saying-so what is 'x-rays' in french??

    It seems my fellow citizen was just a bit ignorant. In english or in physics.

  3. X-rays, as in - the black and white photos taken to see the inside of someone are called "radios"

    If I were to say : Tomorrow I am going to have a x-ray of my arm taken, i would use the french word, "radio"

    "Rayons X" is a word I would use when talking about those machines that check your hand luggage at the airport.

  4. Rayons X, if they had seen it written, they would have understood, but obviously the sound "eks-rez" is too far from their "reh-yon-iks"
