The fridge part of my fridge/freezer was not working properly, i.e. it wasn't cold, and water was forming on the bottom of the fridge. I called out an engineer who said he had now fixed the problem, and I needed to switch off the F/F, de-frost it, and then switch it back on. I did all that, but the next day, the freezer this time failed to work, and my food started to de-frost. When I called the repair company again they told me that I should have switched the F/F off for 24hrs before switching on. I said that I didn?t know to do that, but they are telling me that the engineer told me; but that?s not true. Anyway, can you confirm if a F/F needs to be switched off for 24hrs before it will work again.
