The future as it stands?

I am finding myself concerned about the future. Houses are very expensive! As a community, we seem to be more concerned with buying new plasma tv's and the latest toys than health and the future, we are spending our lives working to give money to the banks!

What are your thoughts?

There is only today. The only Things that Really Matter are Love, Happiness, and Kindly Compassion. We are not gauranteed a future. Any one of us could die at any moment without warning or notice. My 18 year - old Nephew died while playing video games with his best friends.Doctors said he had a congenital heart defect which is undetectable. My 18 year old stepdaughter died with her three best friends while travelling to see her father. A car came into their lane on the freeway and collided with them head - on. The truth is,we don't know how long we have on this plane of existence. This World as we know it has seen many extinctions of entire species - the dinosoars are proof. The truth is, society has us living in a state of denial, as though we had some control of this life to begin with. It isn't true.And buying into this concept makes us susceptable to being controlled by fear. Our Government controls our lives with Fear. We travel where they want us to travel Based on Fear. We vote for certain candidates, and proposals based on Fear. We fight and die in wars based on fear. Our Religions control us based on Fear. If we don't do certain things to support our religious beliefs, we don't get to go to Heaven. Fear. The truth is, even if we get the house we want, find eternal life, and eternal health, even if our lives become perfect,can we still find Happiness ? Many would say "Yes" because their entire existence, their entire reality, is based on outside perameters to provide their Happiness. This is obviously a fantasy, a dream which the people who wish to control you, and me, would Like us to buy into. True Happiness is found within. Contentment and Security are there as well. So is Love.God is there too.In each, and every one of us.That is what makes us eternal,that is what we all share.But the powers that want us to work and die for them would not have us believe this truth. No one can give us Love. It is there within You already. It Is a Choice. These are all choices, Choose to be Happy Now, This Moment, or Choose to Suffer this Moment, Based on Conditions which need to be met to fulfill your Dream of Happiness, which may be unrealistic. Heaven on Earth awaits those who let go of the desire to control their existence,Who become immersed in the Moment, Who create their Own Happiness, Who Become Immersed in Love,Kindness,and Compassion. Your Life is here, Today. Don't let it Pass you by, while you were dwelling on your past, or Projecting into an uncertain Future. Live, Love, and Be Happy. Moment, to Moment,to Moment !

Can't help it, welcome to capitalism. US voters vote with their wallets. The only time there will be change is when people riot and protest; and I'm talking on the a Martin Luther King / Civil Rights scale. It's been awhile since America has had a good protest. I think it's due time.

As for housing, prices should drop. In California, or at least in San Diego, housing prices have significantly dropped to the point where homeowners who are in need to sell their houses. often have to sell their homes at prices below their original purchase price or they foreclose. This due to the high prices and the plethora of town house / condo - apartment conversions. It's simple supply and demand.
