The future of young American tennis players
With the United States Open championship just around the corner, experts are of the view that Mardy Fish is going to be the best tennis player from the United States of America who is going to represent his country apart from few other American players.
Talking about the American tennis at the moment, everyone knows the reality that we have not seen any top level contender from America over the past few years. As far as Andy Roddick is concerned, it has been stated by the John McEnroe that, he’ll have to be “lucky enough" to grab another Grand Slam title. On the other hand, Sam Querrey as well as John Isner, both are young players and will take time to grow and become one of the strongest contenders in the game of tennis. However, there is no doubt about the fact that they have all the appropriate tools required to take their game to the highest level.
Mardy Fish, who dismissed Roddick 7-6(5), 6-3, as well as Isner to grab this year’s Atlanta tennis championship title is another player  who has got tremendous talent beyond any measure of speculations. As far as Roddick’s current form is concerned, everyone knows that he is not performing at his very best over the recent past. Another interesting fact is that both Mardy as well as Roddick are best buddies and know each other since 1999.
"We were just like a family at that time," Fish commented. Roddick on the other hand admitted that Fish has got more talent than him and he will become a top ranked player soon.
Mardy was the only contender back in 2003 at the grass court Grand Slam tournament that succeeded a set versus the Swiss tennis master, Roger Federer. Later on at the Indian Wells competition back in 2008, Fish once again get the better of Roger Federer 6-3, 6-2.  Roger after the match commented that "We all are aware of the fact that how well Fish can play. On events like the one, it is in fact quite difficult to knock him down”.
As far as his recent performance in the Atlanta Tennis championship is concerned, every one experienced a totally different Fish not only in terms of class but in physical appearance as well as he has lost thirty pounds over the recent part after as a result of tough training sessions.
"Losing so much weight was extremely tough," he stated. "I actually starved for days, which is not an easy thing for everyone to do”, he added.
His childhood buddy Andy Roddick was also shocked to see a thinner Fish with such an outstanding form and when the match concluded, Roddick said to Fish at the court, "I am aware of the fact that how much hard work you have done to reach here, so cheers”.
Later on, Fish went on to beat John Isner 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4). In the final match on Sunday to hold the Atlanta Tennis championship title this year.
After the match, Fish the twenty eight years old American tennis ace while commenting on his victory said that, "It feels great to win the titles”.
Therefore, in the light of players like, Mardy Fish no one can say that American tennis is over. Although, there is no doubt about the fact that we have not seen players like Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras as well as John McEnroe since long but even then the hopes are still alive. The only thing required at the moment is to encourage these young American players instead of degrading their talent and we will soon see one of the players from the young slot including Mardy Fish, John Isner, Sam Querrey taking every one’s attention with some eye opening performances.
