The Portuguese skipper has stated that the ‘back-heel’ goal that he managed to score against Rayo Vallecano was not the best goal in his career.
Ronaldo has stressed that even though the goal against Vallecano was a rare beauty and came at a very crucial time for Los Blancos, he has had the pleasure of scoring much beautiful goals in his career.
The Real Madrid starlet discussed that the goal has received great hype even though he does not consider it the most brilliant goal he has ever scored. He further discussed that Rayo Vallecano were able to put a tough challenge for Jose Mourinho’s
men.
The former Manchester United player was elated at being the only scorer in the match as Real Madrid emerged 1-0 victorious over a determined Rayo Vallecano.
The nine-time European Cup winners paid a visit to the Estadio del Rayo Vallecano this past Sunday in continuance of their Spanish La Liga campaign.
The capital derby was expected to be a competitive fixture by many and the speculation proved to be true on Sunday.
The hosts were able to make things quite difficult for the visitors as Madrid were successfully kept out in the first half of the match. The second half was also incredibly thrilling and both teams performed excellently. However, Real were unable to
dominate their opponents as they had been doing to several other clubs this season.
The fans witnessed quite a cagy encounter before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 was able to cheekily back-heel the ball past the Rayo keeper in the 54th minute.
Despite several chances created after the first goal, the Portuguese international’s strike was the only difference between the two Madrid-based teams.
While discussing his goal with reporters, the Madridsta was quoted as saying:
“It was a very good goal, because a back-heel goal is always different. It was a great goal, but not the best of my career so far.”
”This is not the first back-heel goal of my career, because I had already scored one while at Manchester United. I have to watch the video of my goal because I do not think it is my most beautiful goal to date."
Sunday’s victory keeps the Santiago Bernabeu outfit at the top of the Spanish La Liga standings, ten points clear of second-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
