  1. 10,000

  2. The film is from the mid 60's so working on the premise that 'inflation' (debts to banks) averages annually at a steady 7% and therefore doubles the cost / value of everything every 10 years, the bar would be worth around £80,000 today.

    Approx $160,000 US

Edit ... Nice one I.B.  I couldn't find the current and old 'spot' so worked from the known basics. I didn't realise that the gold price had gone so far through the roof compared to property etc! you get my vote for the 10 points

  3. Roughly $10,000.

The dollar is roughly half the value of the pound now.

  4. at 06.55 Los Angeles time, it costs exactly 9960.00 only!!

    have a nice day buddy.....

    :)

  5. $3,000.

  6. $10000

i thing it more there because i was to seal my house i could get a really big house in us

  7. If I remember correctly, that movie was made in about 1964, At that time, gold was fixed at US$35 / per troy ounce. Today's gold spot price is $964.60. Therefore, gold is worth 27.56 times what it was worth in 1964 in US dollars.

At that time, the UK pound was fixed at US$2.80, so gold in 1964 was 12.5 pounds per troy ounce. That means the bar contained exactly 400 troy ounces.  That gives us a current value of the bar of US$385,840 or about 197,900 UK pounds.

    Whew!
