A: Hydrogen fuel cells or any other hydrogen fueling system is a long way off until we double or triple our electric generation and distribution capabilities. To make hydrogen from any other sources costs the equivalent of three times the current cost of gas or diesel. This is one of the hidden points of why the fuel crisis and why the global warming crisis right now. Simple Exxon wants to do the hydrogen highway thing and they are funding the promotion worldwide and have been for about 20 years now starting in Germany.

Until other fuels sell in the US at about $10 a gallon hydrogen can not compete because what it costs to produce using coal or oil fired generators. With nuclear plants it would be 1/10th that but Exxon has fought against nuclear plants since the beginning, which is why we have so few now. Also a note on something I have heard many times but have never been able to verify. Hydrogen is supposed to be even worse on the ozone layer than fluorides are.

B: Sequestering Co2 in any other way than green growing things is the absolutely dumbest thing I have heard in my life. Why, because for every carbon atom you capture and sequester you also are sequestering two oxygen atoms and that is really a dumb thing to do.

Joe...fellow canuck...listen closely.  That Action Plan 2000 thing was drawn up back when we had a Liberal government.  Since then, things have changed.  Except for the Liberals.  Stepane Dion, their national leader, want's to run his next election campaign on the environment and climate change.  Get the drift?  They, like their old plan, are lost in space!!  Forget about them!!
