There was a lot of hype for the Wilfredo Gomez-Carlos Zarate fight.  They were a combined 45-0 w/ 44 KOs coming into the fight (1978).  But when they got in there, it was all Gomez and he won by 5th round TKO.  Gomez later ran into another Mexican phenom in 1981 in the form of Salvador Sanchez who was 40-1-1 coming in.  And this time, it was Sanchez who redeemed Mexico, beating Gomez in 8 rounds.

Past, present, and future great fights too many to mention. But the best match ever was Sal Sanchez vs Gomez. Puerto Rico's heart was really broken with this lose. Gomez was than the Mexican assassin at that time, till Sal beat Gomez in 11 brutal rounds.

I think the Julio Caesar Chavez vs. Hector "Not-So-Macho" Camacho was a great one, especially for the Mexican fans.  Camacho went into the fight talking a lot of trash, at the end, it was Chavez that gave him a beating for 12 rounds.  Chavez didn't knock Camacho out, but I think that is the way he wanted it, so he could give him the beating of his life!!!!
